Small Batch Sliders are a complete, balanced freeze-dried raw meal for dogs, made from humanely raised meat, organs and bone plus certified organic produce. Feed them as a full meal, a topper, or a raw option for travel.

Why we love it
  • A complete meal. Formulated to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles for all life stages (except the growth of large breed puppies), so they can be your dog's whole diet.
  • Up to 88% meat, organ and bone. Whole muscle meat and nutrient-dense organs, for highly digestible protein.
  • One protein per recipe. Easy to rotate between flavours, and a good fit for dogs with sensitivities.
  • Certified organic produce. Vegetables and fruit add fibre and antioxidants.
  • Raw nutrition without the freezer. Shelf-stable and light, so they're easy to store and great for trips.
  • Nothing you don't want. No grains, fillers or artificial preservatives.
The flavours
  • Chicken: free-range chicken, a great everyday choice.
  • Turkey: a lean protein, good for dogs watching their weight.
  • Duck: naturally richer in healthy fats and very tasty.
  • Beef: grass-fed beef with heart, kidney and liver.
  • Pork: crate-free pork, raised without added hormones or antibiotics. A less common protein for rotation.
  • Lamb: pasture-raised lamb (78% meat, organ and bone), a gentle option for sensitive dogs.

Each flavour's back-of-pack photo in the gallery shows the exact ingredients and guaranteed analysis for the bags we stock.

Where it comes from
  • They choose every ingredient themselves. Many brands leave sourcing to a contract manufacturer. Small Batch works directly with its farms and suppliers, and never buys anonymous commodity meat.
  • Welfare comes first. Animals are raised with space to roam, forage and socialise, never in factory farms or feedlots. Every farm partner holds welfare certifications and is audited in person by the Small Batch team.
  • No added hormones or antibiotics in any of the meat.
  • Beef and lamb are pasture-raised and grass-fed in New Zealand.
  • Chicken, turkey and duck come from humanely raised, audited US family farms. The poultry is GAP-rated and fed a vegetarian, GMO-free diet.
  • Pork is crate-free, from multigenerational US family farms.
  • Produce is 100% certified organic, never seconds or discards, grown without synthetic pesticides or GMOs.
  • No synthetic vitamin packs. Nutrients come from whole foods like organs, bone, fish oil, kelp and chia, with natural vitamin E and chelated minerals where needed.
Why raw?

Small Batch believes in feeding dogs the way they're built to eat: from their teeth to their tummies, dogs are designed for meat, organs and bone. Sliders are minimally processed so more of that natural nutrition stays in.

Changes owners often notice after switching to raw:

  • Softer, shinier coats
  • Fresher breath and cleaner teeth
  • Smaller, firmer poops
  • Steady energy
  • Real excitement at mealtime
How to serve
  • Add ½ cup of warm water for every 4 sliders. Crumble them and let them soak for a few minutes before serving.
  • For daily amounts by your dog's weight, see the feeding guide on the back of the pack (photo in the gallery). Every dog is different, so adjust to keep them at a healthy weight.
  • New to raw? Start with about 25% sliders and 75% of their current food, then increase the sliders over 7–10 days (a little longer for sensitive tummies). Smaller, firmer poops and a steady appetite are good signs.
  • Mixing with kibble? That's fine. Small Batch suggests feeding raw and kibble in separate meals so each digests at its own pace.
  • Crumbs at the bottom of the bag are just as nutritious. A loosely scooped ¼ cup is about 1–2 sliders.
  • Puppies and pregnant or nursing dogs may need more. Check with your vet.
  • Keep the bag sealed and store it somewhere cool and dry.
About Small Batch

It started with Blue, a rescue cat with special dietary needs that store-bought food couldn't meet. In 2004, in their San Francisco flat, the founders began cooking small, fresh batches for Blue with the same local, sustainable meat and produce they bought for themselves. Blue thrived.

In 2005 it became a tiny delivery service for friends and neighbours, working with small family farms and inspired by San Francisco's slow-food values. In 2014 the family moved Small Batch to Aumsville, Oregon, to be closer to its farms, and launched its freeze-dried range. It celebrated 20 years in 2025 and is still family-run.

The name is the promise: food is made in small, carefully controlled runs so quality and freshness can be checked every time, in USDA-inspected facilities.
