OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100

Covers the cover fabric of the Mitodo Kumo bed and the Sora stairs (woven polyester).

What it means

An independent lab has tested the fabric for harmful substances, such as formaldehyde, heavy metals and certain dyes, at the limits set for products that touch skin. Reassuring for a nose that rests on it all day.

CertiPUR-US®

Covers the foam in every Kumo bed and Sora stairs: the foam base of the bed and the whole of the stairs, and the gel memory foam on top of the bed.

What it means

The foam is made without ozone depleters, PBDE, TDCPP or TCEP flame retardants, mercury, lead and other heavy metals, and formaldehyde. It’s also tested for low VOC emissions, which matters for the air your dog breathes at floor level.

Removable microsuede cover OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified fabric

Soft to the touch, and the part your dog lies on nose-first. It’s made from OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified fabric, zips off with a hidden zipper and machine washes on a cold, gentle cycle.
Water-resistant inner lining

Sits between the cover and the foam to guard against everyday spills and accidents. It’s water-resistant, a practical layer of everyday protection.
Cooling gel memory foam CertiPUR-US® certified

Cushions pressure points as your dog settles in, with cooling gel for Singapore’s warm climate. Made with CertiPUR-US® certified memory foam.
High-density support foam CertiPUR-US® certified

The foundation. Denser foam holds its shape under weight, so the bed keeps supporting joints instead of flattening. It’s what makes the Kumo a good fit for senior dogs and dogs who need extra support. Made with CertiPUR-US® certified foam, the same foam the Sora stairs are cut from, and covered by our lifetime foam warranty.
Grippy rubber-dot base

High-friction rubber dots grip tiles, vinyl and wood, so the bed stays put when your dog steps in. The more they move, the better it holds: their weight presses the dots down for even more grip.

Lifetime foam warranty

We back the Kumo’s foam for life. If it ever sags, we’ll send you new foam.

Covered: the foam sagging, meaning a permanent dip deeper than 2.5 cm. The Kumo’s bolster fill is included too.
Not covered: the covers, which are made to be washed and swapped.
What you get: a replacement foam insert, free of charge. You just pay the delivery fee.

Good questions

Who holds these certificates?

Our material suppliers. Certificates like these are issued to the companies that make the fabric and the foam, and we buy those certified materials to make the Kumo bed and Sora stairs. The watermark shows each one is a copy our supplier provided to us.

Why does the certificate show a different company name?

Because each certificate belongs to the company that makes the material, not to us. The OEKO-TEX® certificate is in the name of our fabric supplier, Suzhou Longing Textile Technology, and the CertiPUR-US® certificate is in the name of our foam producer, Hangzhou Changming Latex Sponge. We use their certified fabric and foam in the Kumo bed and Sora stairs. That’s how these certifications work, and it’s why you can look the names up yourself.

Do the certificates cover all Mitodo products?

Partly. The OEKO-TEX® certificate covers the cover fabric of the Mitodo Kumo bed and the Sora stairs. The CertiPUR-US® certificate covers the foam in both the Kumo bed and the Sora stairs: the bed’s base and gel memory foam layers, and the whole of the stairs. For other products, see each product page or ask us.

Is the cover washable?

Yes. The cover unzips with a hidden zipper and machine washes on a gentle, cold cycle. Tumble dry low, or air dry flat. Please don’t machine wash the foam insert or the inner lining; spot clean the lining with a damp cloth instead.
