Kumo Bed FAQs
Are the covers removable?
Yes, and it’s easy. The microsuede cover unzips along its hidden zipper and slides off. Underneath, the water-resistant liner is a separate layer with its own zipper, so it comes off too. Pop the cover in the washing machine on a gentle, cold cycle, and wipe the liner clean with a damp cloth.
For the days your pawbie comes home wearing half the park, there’s the Kumo Bed + Spare Cover Set: a second cover at 30% off, so a fresh one is always on standby while the other is in the wash.
How do I choose the right size?
Measure your pet from nose to the base of the tail, and check their weight, then compare:
Small: under 8 kg, up to about 50 cm long Medium: 8–18 kg, up to about 70 cm long Large: 18–45 kg, up to about 90 cm long
If your pet loves to sprawl, or sits between sizes, go one size up. The size guide below can also pick a size for you.
Can I try the Kumo bed before I buy?
Yes, please do, and bring your pet. Our showroom is at 2 Gambas Crescent, Nordcom 2, Singapore 757044, open 10am–7pm daily by appointment. Book your visit online: see the free times, pick one and your visit is confirmed instantly.
Is an orthopaedic bed only for senior dogs?
Not at all. Good support is comfortable at any age, and it matters most for seniors, larger breeds and pets with sensitive joints. The low front entry also makes it easy for small pets and short legs to step in without jumping.
Can cats use the Kumo Bed?
Of course. Kumo is a pet bed, and cats love the raised bolsters to curl against. Size S suits most cats.
What's inside the bed?
A 25D high-density support foam base topped with 40D cooling gel memory foam, surrounded by bolsters filled with shredded foam. Both foam layers are CertiPUR-US® certified, and the cover is OEKO-TEX® certified microsuede.
What does the lifetime foam warranty cover?
Kumo’s foam is covered for life: if it sags, we replace it. Not one year, not five, for life, and the bolster filling is included. Just send us a photo by email, Instagram DM or WhatsApp and we’ll take it from there. Read the lifetime foam warranty.
Will my pet get too warm on it?
The memory foam layer contains cooling gel, chosen with Singapore's warm climate in mind, so your pet gets supportive cushioning without sleeping hot.
Why does the bed arrive flat?
The foam is vacuum-compressed for delivery. Unpack it on a flat surface and allow up to 72 hours for it to fully rise.
Is the size exact?
Foam is soft and flexible, so each piece can be up to 1 cm bigger or smaller than the size listed. Give it the full 72 hours to rise, then measure it on a hard floor.
Still more than 1 cm off? Email hello@mitodo.com.sg, or send us an Instagram DM or WhatsApp message, with a photo of the tape measure, and we’ll look into it.
Will it slide on tiles or parquet?
No. The base is covered in high-friction rubber dots that grip smooth floors like tiles, vinyl and parquet. Your pet’s weight presses the dots down, so the bed grips even harder the moment they step in.
Does the bed protect against spills?
Yes. A separate water-resistant liner, with its own zipper, sits between the cover and the foam to guard against everyday spills and small accidents.
How do I wash it?
Unzip the microsuede cover and machine wash it on a gentle, cold cycle, then tumble dry on low or air dry flat. Don't machine wash the foam or the inner lining; spot clean the lining with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Let everything dry fully before putting it back together.
Can I get a spare cover?
Yes. Kumo Bed Extra Covers come in Cream and Charcoal Gray in sizes S, M and L, so there's always a fresh one ready on wash day. Add one with your Kumo bed and it's 30% off (one cover per bed). On their own, spare covers are always 10% off. Applied automatically at checkout.
Is it chew-proof?
No bed is truly chew-proof. The hidden zipper keeps the zip away from curious teeth, but it's best to keep an eye on enthusiastic chewers.
Sora Stairs FAQs
Is the cover removable?
Yes. The microsuede cover unzips and slides off the foam steps. Underneath, the water-resistant liner is a separate layer with its own zipper, so it comes off too. Pop the cover in the washing machine on a gentle, cold cycle, and wipe the liner clean with a damp cloth.
Will Sora suit my sofa or bed?
Almost certainly. Sora is 70 cm long, 40 cm wide and 38 cm high at the top step. Most sofa seats sit 43–48 cm high, just above the top step, so your pet walks up the gentle steps and takes one small, easy hop onto the seat. Lower beds, around 50 cm, are just one small hop too.
Quick check: measure from the floor to the top of your seat cushion or mattress. Around 50 cm or less? Sora’s a perfect fit.
Which pets is Sora for?
Sora is designed for small, senior and mobility-sensitive pets, and for anyone you'd rather not see jumping on and off furniture. Cats use it happily too.
What's different about Sora's steps?
Regular pet stairs have flat steps with a tall edge to climb over. Every Sora step is a gentle 16° slope with only a small rise to the next one, so your pet gets a gentler climb that's easier on the joints, with less strain than jumping.
Will it slide or wobble?
No. The base is covered in high-friction rubber dots that grip smooth floors like tiles, vinyl and wood. Better still, your pet’s weight on each step presses the dots down, so Sora grips even harder the moment they climb. The high-density foam keeps every step firm and steady underfoot, too.
Does it need assembly?
No. Sora is one piece of foam, delivered vacuum-compressed. Unpack it and give it up to 72 hours to fully regain its shape.
Is Sora covered by the lifetime foam warranty?
Yes. Sora’s foam is covered for life, just like the Kumo bed’s: if it sags, we replace it. Read the lifetime foam warranty.
How do I help my pet get used to the stairs?
Place Sora against the sofa or bed and let your pet sniff it first. Lure them up one step at a time with a treat, praise every attempt, and keep sessions short. Most pets get the hang of it within a few tries.
How do I clean it?
The microsuede cover is removable and washable: unzip it and machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle, then air dry. Don't wash the foam; spot clean the inner lining with a damp cloth. A water-resistant lining helps protect the foam from everyday spills.
Does it match my Mitodo Kumo bed?
Yes, inside and out. What goes into our flagship Mitodo Kumo goes into Sora: the same CertiPUR-US® certified high-density support foam, the same water-resistant inner lining and the same microsuede, in the same Cream and Charcoal Gray. Take a look at the Kumo Bed.
Why Sora's steps
A gentler climb than regular pet stairs
Regular pet stairs have flat steps with a tall edge to climb over. Every Mitodo Sora step is a gentle 16° slope with only a small rise to the next one, so your pet walks up at their own pace. It's a gentler climb that's easier on the joints, with less strain than jumping.
Same height to the sofa. A gentler climb on every step.

I’ve never felt a pet bed this sturdy and comfortable before! We’ve had so much trouble finding a bed that’s the right size for our Lab, but this one fits him perfectly — truly like the glass slipper for Cinderella. 🥹
It’s spacious enough for him to roll around and stretch out comfortably, while still feeling cosy and secure. It’s officially become his favourite spot to cuddle up and sleep at night. He absolutely loves it! 🐶🤍
I also love that the covers can be taken off and washed — such a practical feature, especially with a dog! It makes keeping his favourite spot clean so much easier. Definitely one of the best pet beds we’ve had.

Goldie loves it, no more sleeping on carpets since he started using it. Quality is very good, everything is firm and packed tight.

Moi The Cat
Got this for my cat and he loves it! The bed is really comfortable and supportive, with soft raised sides that he likes to curl up against. Quality feels great and the low entrance makes it easy for him to get in and out. Definitely a good purchase!

Didn’t know even dogs have orthopaedic beds, but it’s what my baby needs. Foam is odour free and very supportive. Tried many cheaper beds before, most of them not supportive at all. Will see if the foam deforms over time in future
O
Owner of Cotton
Bought an S size bed and it’s still big, too big for my tiny pompom. But watching her change positions freely through the day and stretch all the way out makes the purchase worthwhile. She’s old and her legs are fragile, so the low-entry design is perfect for her. She used to hop into her other beds, and it made me worry she might injure herself.
T
Teh Peng & Teh C
I was impressed by the quality when I unpacked it. The bed holds its shape well, even though my dogs like to circle around and rearrange themselves several times before lying down. It’s big enough for both of them to lie down in, but I regret not sizing up, as the M size just fits 2 fat corgis. Mitodo offered a discount for the next purchase, but my room is a bit too tight for an L size bed.
B
Bun Bun
The bed feels firm and supportive without being hard. My dog took a nap on it the first afternoon, and now it’s the first place he goes when we settle down for the evening.

What goes into a Kumo
Your pet spends hours every day on their bed, so we chose every layer of the Kumo for two things: how well it supports them, and what it’s made of.
Every layer started with the same question: is it safe for a nose that’s on it all day?

Removable microsuede cover
OEKO-TEX®
Soft to the touch and chosen for everyday pet use. The fabric is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (the certificate is held by our fabric supplier). It zips off with a hidden zipper, which keeps it away from chewers, and machine washes on a cold, gentle cycle.
2
Water-resistant inner lining
Sits between the cover and the foam to guard against everyday spills and accidents. It’s water-resistant, a practical layer of everyday protection.
3
Cooling memory gel foam
CertiPUR-US®
Cushions pressure points as your dog settles in. The cooling gel is a thoughtful detail for Singapore’s warm climate, so they rest comfortably without sleeping hot. Tested for harmful chemicals (CertiPUR-US®).
4
High-density support foam
The foundation. We chose high-density foam because denser foam holds its shape under weight, so the bed keeps supporting joints instead of flattening. It’s what makes the Kumo suited to senior dogs and dogs up to 45 kg.
5
Grippy rubber-dot base
High-friction rubber dots grip tiles, vinyl and wood, so the bed stays put when your dog steps in. The more they move, the better it holds: their weight presses the dots down for even more grip.
What the certifications mean
CertiPUR-US®
All the foam in the Kumo bed and Sora stairs
An independent certification for polyurethane foam. Certified foam is made without:
Ozone depleters
PBDE, TDCPP or TCEP (“Tris”) flame retardants
Mercury, lead and other heavy metals
Formaldehyde
Phthalates regulated by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
It is also tested for low VOC emissions (under 0.5 parts per million), which matters for the air your dog breathes at floor level.
OEKO-TEX®
Microsuede cover
OEKO-TEX® certified textiles are tested by independent laboratories for substances harmful to health, including ones that are legally regulated and many that are not, such as certain dyes, formaldehyde and heavy metals.
It’s the surface your dog lies on nose-first, so it’s the part that should be tested most carefully.
Premium isn’t just the fabric you see. It’s every layer you don’t, chosen to be safe to rest on and to keep supporting night after night.
Made like our flagship Kumo

2

3
High-density support foam
High density means each step stays firm and stable instead of sinking underfoot. Paired with gentle 16° sloped steps, it helps small, senior and mobility-sensitive pets climb with confidence and less strain on their joints.
4
Grippy rubber-dot base
High-friction rubber dots grip tiles, vinyl and wood. The more your pet climbs, the better it holds: their weight on each step presses the dots down for even more grip.
Every step is built from materials we’d trust around our own pets.
Size & fit
Made for real sofas and beds
At 38 cm high with three gently sloped 16° steps, Sora meets most sofas and lower beds with just one small, easy hop at the top.
